The customer requires three initials engraved onto the jewellery box, F.L.H in a script but simplistic style which will be ornate yet easily readable.
We have offered 3 sketches for the customer to consider and in this case the customer requires the Initials to be in an entwined script.
1 - Plastecine is rubbed onto the area to be engraved . The lettering is then drawn onto the box giving a rough idea of balance and size.
2 - A sharp scriber is then used to scratch the lettering that has been drawn onto the box, these are the guide lines that will be followed when engraving.
3 - The box is then cut with the graver, cutting all 'down' strokes first. We have decided to thread the lettering by engraving 3 lines.
4 - All the 'up' strokes are then cut.
5 - The box is highly polished to eliminate any light scratching during engraving and is now ready for the customer .
